At Target Tomorrow Foundation, we believe the traditions of target shooting are worth protecting, and passing on. We’re a Kentucky-based nonprofit dedicated to building a safer, more connected future for the shooting sports community across the Green River Area, one program, partnership, and person at a time.
Our Mission
Promote and advance all target shooting sports in the Green River Area of Kentucky, including the counties of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union, and Webster. We are dedicated to providing resources, education, and opportunities that encourage safety, sportsmanship, and community involvement in order to strengthen facilities, empower youth through educational programs, and foster responsible participation in all forms of target shooting to ensure the future of these traditions for generations to come.
Our Vision
The Target Tomorrow Foundation envisions a Green River Area where shooting sports flourish as respected, inclusive, and accessible community traditions, sustained by safe facilities, educated participants, and youth who embody leadership, teamwork, discipline, and responsibility. Our vision is a future united by education, safety, and community spirit, ensuring that the values and opportunities of the shooting sports endure for generations to come.
Core Values
Safety First – A steadfast commitment to the highest standards of firearms and archery safety. Every program, event, and partnership should emphasize education, responsibility, and respect for the tools and traditions of the shooting sports.
Education & Skill Development – Fostering lifelong learning by teaching proper technique, ethics, and sportsmanship. The goal is not only to build skill but to cultivate confidence, discipline, and appreciation for the sport.
Community – Creating a welcoming environment that brings together youth, adults, families, and newcomers, regardless of background or experience, to share in the camaraderie and values of the shooting sports.
Integrity and Excellence – Operating with transparency, fairness, and professionalism in all actions. Striving for excellence in programming, partnerships, and representation of the shooting community.
Stewardship and Conservation – Promoting respect for the land, wildlife, and facilities that make the shooting sports possible. This includes environmental responsibility, preservation of ranges, and sustainable practices.
Meet the Board
Charles Hughes
Chairman & Founder
Charles founded Target Tomorrow Foundation, drawing on his own passion for competing in sporting clays, to expand access to shooting sports across the Green River Area. He is a licensed master electrician and serves as COO for a regional electrical contracting company, bringing over two decades of project management and operations experience to the board. He is also dedicated to teaching electrical apprentices, first through Associated Builders and Contractors and more recently with KCTCS, instructional experience he carries directly into his work with the Foundation.
William Scott Smith
Vice Chairman
Scott is a longtime resident of the Owensboro area and a dedicated supporter of the local shooting sports and outdoor community. As Vice Chairman, he helps guide the Foundation’s strategy and steps in to lead board meetings in the Chairman’s absence.
Brooke Bosley
Secretary
Brooke is a District Sales Coordinator at Aflac in Owensboro and a graduate of Western Kentucky University. She brings organizational and coordination experience to her role as Secretary, keeping the board’s records and meetings running smoothly.
Gary Gahlinger
Director
Gary is a lifelong competitive sporting clays shooter and the 2010 Kentucky State Sporting Clays Champion, with a shooting record that includes national-level competition at the NSCA Championships. His decades on the range give the board firsthand insight into the sport and its community.
